Overview:
The Mercer County Library System is seeking a part-time, 19 hours per weekYouth Services Librarian for the Robbinsville Branch.
We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses a deep passion for children’s and teen services, paired with a steadfast commitment to exceptional public service. This part-time role requires flexibility in scheduling to ensure programming aligns with the needs of local youth, including evenings and Saturdays, alongside a proactive approach to school and community outreach.
As a vital member of our collaborative environment, the successful candidate will work closely with Youth Services, Adult Services, and Circulation staff. Exceptional communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to balance multiple deadlines within a part-time schedule are essential. In our smaller branch setting, candidates must also demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to support a variety of service areas. This would include stepping in to assist across departments as needed to ensure seamless operations and excellent patron service. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate a strong foundation in early literacy, child development, and youth literature.
Hours/Schedule:
This is a 19 hour per week position and includes at least two evenings per week and two Saturdays a month in rotation.
Salary Range: $24.21 - $39.10 p/hr.

An MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA accredited institution and a New Jersey Professional Librarian’s Certificate are required.
