Part-Time Reference and Instruction Librarian

Come work with us at Middlesex College Library! We're looking for a Part-Time Reference and Instruction Librarian to join our team and serve our college community.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Provides reference services to students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
• Develops and teaches library instruction sessions, in-person or online, for courses from various subject disciplines.
• Assists users in the library labs with computer, software, printing, internet, and database questions.
• Recommends book, serial, and online materials for purchase.
• Assists with resource sharing, Library communications, marketing, and user materials.
• Participates in the planning and general service objectives of the College and Library, including assessment efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science
• Classroom teaching experience
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and technical skills
• Fluent with print and online library resources
  
   

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience at a community college.

Schedule:

Part-time, up to 20 hours per week, afternoon and evening coverage preferred, but schedule is flexible.
