Under the direction of the Board of Library Trustees, the Executive Director serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Carroll County Public Library (CCPL), providing visionary leadership to advance the Library's mission, strategic priorities, and long-term sustainability.
The Executive Director leads a nationally recognized public library system committed to innovation, lifelong learning, exceptional customer service, and responsible stewardship of public resources. Reporting directly to the seven-member Board of Library Trustees, the Executive Director establishes organizational priorities, develops and implements strategic initiatives, and ensures the effective management of library operations, finances, facilities, technology, and personnel.
Salary
$145,000.00 to $170,000.00 annually

Additional Info & Requirements
MD State Law Requirements: An applicant shall have:
- A master’s degree from a library school accredited by the American Library Association.
- 5 years of experience as a professional librarian with at least 2 years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
The Board of Trustees expects the new Executive Director to relocate to Carroll County and become an active and engaged community resident.
