Phillipsburg Library seeks an enthusiastic and empathetic person to join our youth services staff. This individual should be friendly, flexible, and most importantly, love working with teens, young children, and their caregivers.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have experience working with children and teens, a strong customer service orientation, be technologically adept, and have an understanding of basic library organization. Excellent communication skills, patience, a sense of humor, and ability to multi-task is a must, as is the ability to work harmoniously with fellow staff and patrons, creating an atmosphere of respect and inclusion.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. Library experience strongly preferred.
Starting pay is $23.69/hr. This is a 20-hour per week position which will include weekday, evening, and some Saturday hours.
This is a Civil Service position, and the NJ First Residency Act applies unless granted a waiver.
